California Divorce:  You don’t always have to go to family court to get a divorce. Ifyou & your spouse can agree on dividing
property, spousal support, and child support, I can help you complete all the necessary forms as a Paralegal/LDA -saving you
the high cost of hiring an attorney. Usually, there are 10-12 judicial forms that must be filed, & even a small mistake can delay
your case. Let me help make sure everything is done right the first time. For one low flat fee, I prepare the forms, file them with
the court, & make sure they’re properly served. See mytab above for more detailed information surrounding C.A. Divorce

Revocable LivingTrust: A Revocable Living Trust helps you keep your family out of costly and time-consuming probate
court. Without one, your loved ones may face thousands in court fees and the hassle of hiring attorneys just to settle your
estate. With a properly prepared trust, your home, bank accounts, and other assets are re-titled into the trust and transfer
directly to your beneficiaries-saving them time, money, and stress. I can prepare your Revocable Living Trust to ensure all
your assets are included and fully protected.

Name Change: Name changes are handled in the civil courts. When a petition for a name change is filed, a court hearing
will be set, usually in about 6 weeks. Alegal notice will have to be published in a local newspaperfor four (4) consecutive
weeks. Proof of publication must be filed with the courts before a new name change can be granted.

Why Should Families Have A Living Trust?

The reason a Revocable Living Trust is so important is that without it, your assets may be subjected to Probate court fees & leave your heirs with the complexity of hiring Attorney’s to settle your assets within the Probate courts. After your passing, this can be a year long process to settle with the Probate courts & can put an unnecessary financial burden on your children/heirs. More importantly, you decide who the legal guardians are for your minor children in your absence…not the state courts.

What’s Included In A Revocable Living Trust?

  • Living Trust Agreement: A legal document that allows you to transfer ownership of your assets to a trustee, who then manages them according to your specific instructions in the trust.
  • Declaration of Trust: Legal document that confirms that you intend to include all your valuable assets into the Living Trust.
  • Certification of Trust: A legal document that can be used to certify both the existence of a Living Trust, as well as prove a Trustee’s legal authority to act.
  • Assignment of Personal Property: Legal document that specifies your transferring of tangible personal property (i.e., vehicles, furniture, jewelry) into your Revocable Living Trust.
  • California Last Will & Testament (Pour Over Will): Legal document that specifies how your assets should be distributed upon your death. Pour Over Will is used when you have a Revocable Living Trust & want to ensure any remaining assets are transferred into your trust.
  • Financial/Advance Healthcare Directive: Legal documents that allow a trusted person to make financial or medical decisions on your behalf.
  • Preparation of new Grant Deed (Funding Your Trust): You change the titles of your assets from your name, to the name of the Revocable Trust. This makes the trust the legal owner of your assets which is called “funding your trust”. This ensures that your assets will be distributed according to your Revocable Trust and avoid going through Probate court and unnecessary fees.

Client Testimonials

Sara was very knowledgeable and organized while helping us navigate our power of attorney paperwork. We truly appreciate her patience and understanding while working with my elderly parents.

Sarah is amazing, she represented herself as a very detail oriented professional business owner. Just recently she assisted me and my aunt, with a living trust. We met in person and the following week she delivered our revocable trust the following week.

Sara was so great to work with! I am so happy I found her. I would definitely return to her if I need a Power of Attorney prepared for my family again. She is very professional, likable, and easy to communicate with. She was able to return the document that same day to my Dad in the hospital, and also able to notarize it so it was a time saver for us to use her services

We hired her services since we needed a last minute Advance Healthcare Directive for my Mom at the hospital. She prepared, delivered and notarized the document for us which make it very convenient to finalize my mom’s trust estate documents.

FAQ'S

The advantage of hiring a Legal Document Assistant (LDA) lies in their ability to provide a low-cost alternative to hiring an attorney for routine paperwork. Often, a single visit to an LDA is sufficient to equip you with the necessary tools to handle most legal matters. Additionally, LDAS offer top-quality legal typing assistance, ensuring that your documents are prepared accurately and efficiently.

The primary difference is that attorneys can provide legal advice and represent clients in court, whereas document preparation services, such as those offered by Legal Document Assistants, focus solely on preparing professional legal documents at the client's request.

No, you do not need a lawyer to set up a Revocable Living Trust or CA Will in California. Legal document preparation assistants can help you draft and complete your Living Will documents, ensuring it meets all legal requirements without the higher costs associated with hiring an attorney. While we cannot provide legal advice, we can ensure that your documents are accurately prepared and comply with state laws.

Online platforms produce generic legal documents that may not comply with your local recorder's office requirements. For example, preparation of a new Grant Deed requires specific forms in order to properly be filed in the respective county recorder's office. Online platforms rarely provide all the necessary documents and instructions to properly record the Grant Deed. Using Legal Docs & Preparation for your estate planning needs can save you time and money. We provide professional assistance in drafting wills, trusts, grant deeds and other estate documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards without the high costs of an attorney.

Yes, Legal Docs & Preparation offers mobile or virtual services. Are you home bound? Call us and I can meet you in person to prepare your important legal documents.

A person who prepares legal documents is typically called a Legal Document Assistant (LDA). LDA's are legal professionals who are registered and bonded in order to provide affordable legal document preparation services. LDA's are authorized to assist clients in preparing legal documents without providing legal advice.
